ABOUT US
Hello!
Welcome to our friendly international family. My name is Julia and I am the founder of the Kalinka school with the support of my husband Aaron and son Nick. We believe that children in Vallejo deserve to receive a good and quality education, like all children in the Bay area. All good beginnings are laid in childhood. So three years ago we moved to Vallejo, renovated our house to make our beliefs come true.
My life has always been closely connected with children of different ages. I am educated and experienced. I have a Master degree in Education of Art (1996-2001,Khakass State University, Russia) and certificate Associate Teacher (2018-2019, Saddleback college, CA). Over the 19 years of my career, I have worked as a teacher at preschools, summer camps, middle and high schools, and also lectured Russian language and foreign literature in community colleges.
In California, I was lucky enough to work at several East Bay Russian preschools and spend more than three years studying the Reggio Emilia approach at the Old Firehouse school (child care center, Mill valley campus). Inspired by the experience of my colleagues, I have chosen one of the best known play-based programs for early child development, Tools of the mind by Deborah J. Leong and Elene Bodrova. The value of our school is a flexible and diverse curriculum that allows your child to discover, and further develop, the individual abilities of any child. As a mother, I promise to love and care, as a teacher, I guarantee a professional approach to each child.
You have a unique opportunity to get to know our family and we will share with you our love of creativity, music, gardening and cooking.
Let's start this amazing acquaintance by scheduling a tour!
With love,
Kalinka family
